What is "confirmed opt-in"?
We will only send newsletters to people who have confirmed that they wish to receive them. When you sign up for a newsletter you supply us with your email address. Before we start sending you the newsletter we will send a confirmation email to the address you have given us with a unique link in it for you to click. By clicking on that link we know that the address you have given us really is your own address, and that you really do want to receive the newsletter.
How is that different from opt-out?
Many of the companies who send you mail use an opt-out system. They have obtained your email address from somewhere and will send you mail without asking first if you want it. They include a link on their emails for you to opt out of receiving further emails from them, but we don't think you should have to opt out of something you never asked for in the first place.
Who runs Newsletter Services?
Newsletter Services is a part of Skill Zone Limited, an Internet services and website design company based in Cheshire. We provide Newsletter Services on behalf of our customers who are typically membership organisations, charities, and UK businesses.
Do you insert ads into the emails you send out?
No. The content of each newsletter is entirely controlled by the publisher. Unlike many internet sites and services these days, this is not an advertising-financed business. Newsletter Services exists to help our customers deliver newsletters, not adverts.
